For My Girl

Natalie:
I wish for you
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,

Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm you heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,

Friendship to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,

Faith so you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And "LOVE" To complete your life.

Still Alive

Well its been 1 week and I'm glad to say that the fish (aka Blueberry) is still alive. He made it, and he looks like he's doing great. I don't think the cat has discovered him yet, so that has probably helped preserve his life.

Speaking of still alive, I made it through a stability ball class without falling on my rear. All through the class while we were "on" the ball, I just was focusing on not falling off. We also did some more yoga moves and weights. I'm glad I survived that class. I kept thinking if that older lady next to me can do all this, I sure can too!

We went swimming tonight, well Anthony and Natalie got in the pool while I watched patiently on the side lines. I glance over to Anthony and he is signally me to come over. We have a dilemma. Uh oh. Natalie's turtle earring came out of her ear and is somewhere at the bottom of the pool. There was some tears involved so Anthony kept diving looking for it. Each time he came up, Natalie was looking more and more desperate. But that earring is so special to me. This is a line we hear for everything! Good news is, Anthony found the earring at the bottom of the pool, and all is right in the world again.

So for now, both our fishes (Natalie & Blueberry) are alive and healthy!

Kick Box Cardio

Tonight I tried a new class at the Y. It was the kick box cardio aerobic workout. I was pleasantly surprised, it was really fun. Punching and kicking seem to be the main theme of the exercise. Its like a mini tybo class. Billy Blanks, watch out!

Anne from work is trying to talk me into taking her ty kwan do class with her. It seems like fun, punching and kicking all the time. Sparring with people kind of frightens me though. It might be too much contact for me. I told her I would consider it, who knows she may finally talk me into it. When you see me walking around trying to spar with you, it will be a clue that Anne finally talked me into it.

Well tomorrow I have my yoga class, and I am hoping that I don't kill myself trying to do the downward dogs. Ugh...

Easter Day with the Family

Well its Easter eve, and I'm here gathering my thoughts of everything that happened today. My day started around 6 am this morning with a tapping on my shoulder. Mom the Easter Bunny came! Oh my, and I haven't even had my coffee yet! Needless to say, I slept in a little longer, while dad got up and helped her find all the Easter Eggs, the bunny left behind. He made coffee, and we had a simple breakfast, coffee cake :)

Our next stop was going to Grandma P house for the Easter Ham we've been waiting all year for. On our way to Traverse City, we stopped in Custer and bought the 20lb ham. So the ham has already had miles on it lol. The ham was delicious. We had Anthony's scalloped corn, and potato casserole, and of course the famous croissants. Brownies for dessert.

The kids all played together nice, Natalie got Easter bunny ears to wear, even I wore them for a while. Natalie was so glad to see her cousins. By the end of the day she was worn out.

Here's a picture of me & my girl. Happy Easter baby girl!

Well, now that Easter Day is coming to an end, we can start looking forward to some spring time weather. I want to start walking and taggie needs the exercise too!

Something's Fishy around here!

Today, I went to have my haircut, and after that we decided to do a few errands while we were out. After all the snow we got last night, we were all discouraged about spring being around the corner, so a little retail therapy would just hit the spot. Of course, I wanted to hit Old Navy, and Natalie has been begging to go into the new Pet Smart they just built. So I sent Anthony and Nat there, so I could have a few minutes of free time in Old Navy before I had others lingering and hovering around me. Well I was in the dressing room, and my cell rang. Hello?....Hi mommy, I want a fish. Can I have one? So needless to say, I had to finish up my shopping, because now, my free time was officially over.

Natalie had saved up $12 from her allowance, and it was burning a hole in her pocket. We settled on a Beta Fish with a small fish tank. She still had $2 left! I like to teach thrifty shopping.

With this newest member of the family, comes an important lesson. Natalie needs to learn how to keep her fish alive if she wants to have a "fish tank with lots of fishes." I will keep everyone posted on the outcome of this important lesson.

Yoga

Well I went to my first Yoga class. It was interesting. I can say that I'm all stretched out. We did alot of downward dogs,& my favorite was the warrior. During the class, I kept thinking to myself, this lady is off her rocker. I will have to learn all the terminology, so I can understand what in the world the instructor is talking about. But afterwards, I felt so relaxed and I slept so well, that I will definitely give this yoga thing another try next week. I have about 20 more lbs to loose, and I'd like to have that done by my next birthday in August. Thats my goal. Let's hope I make it!

Awana Olympics

Awana Olympics

Well, Natalie's team did it! They took home First Place this year at the Awana Olympics. It was so much fun to watch the kids do the funny games. She had a good time and was well worth the drive to Kalamazoo. We ate at Cracker Barrell afterwards, and she really ate good. We went for lunch with some old friends and had a good time "catching up." Natalie received a ribbon for first place along with her team.

After the olympics, we came home and we went to the Y for a work out. I did the treadmill for awhile, then we did some of the Nautilis equipment in the weight room. I have to say there is alot of testosterone in that area..why do men have to go around grunting while they are lifting weights. And I felt totally uncomfortable since I was the only female in sight. I threatend Anthony with his life, that he better not leave me alone in there! The actual weight lifting part wasn't so bad, but I'm feeling it tonight! I'm going to try to go again tomorrow, but since Anthony won't be with me, I might just stick to the tread mill...

It Fits!

While I had some free time this evening, I decieded to do some clothes shopping. Since I've lost some weight, I've been shrinking out of my clothes. I know, to many this seems like such a dilema, but it really is hard to keep up with my clothes. So I went to TJ Maxx and I bought some "gym" clothes to work out in. Then I went over to Old Navy and WOW, I was stuck at the Clearance rack. I bought about 4 shirts from the clearance rack, they were about $4.99 a piece. This is my kind of sale since I do have the problem of shrinking out of them. What made me happy was I could actually fit into stylish clothes. That hasn't happened in years!
Natalie has Awama Olympics tomorrow, and I'm trying to deciede what in the world to wear. Now that I have some options now, its hard to come to some sort of rational of what to wear to a chuch function. It is a sporting event, I could wear my new Nike shirt, or I could just wear my bright yellow top from old navy. hmmm, what to wear.
I think its ironic that I'm thinking about all this while I'm watching "What not to Wear" This is Natalies favorite show, and I'm sure whatever I do deciede to wear tomorrow, Natalie will be following in Stacys footsteps.

M & M's

I just absolutely love M&M's. My very favorite kind are the peanut butter ones. And there are so cute on the commercials. I recently went online and created my own M&M. It was fun, you can create whatever kind you want and in any shape and color. Now they make them with a personalized saying on them as well. Who would of thought they would be so popular?

It was such a beautiful day today, the sun was shining and it made me happy. Almost like I feel when I'm eating those peanut butter M&M's!

Momma's poor baby

This morning around 6 am, Natalie woke me up to the words no mother wants to hear when they are sleeping, "mom, I just threw up." As I propelled out of my bed in 1 nano second, "did you make it to the bathroom?" By the sound of her crys, thats a no. As I got her comfortably back on the couch, with pillows and her frog blanket, I woke Anthony to go "look over the damage." Thank God he was home today to stay with her.
Good news is that there were no more episodes during the day and it was probably something that just upset her tummy. She has a real sensitive tum.
My poor baby girl....

What a week!

Well its Sunday evening, it's finally quiet and I'm thinking about the week ahead of me. It seems like I have so much to do and accomplish this week. I need to get organized with my new role for the Ladies of Fire Fighters. I've been voted the secretary for this, and I need to get the by laws done, and a few other things, so us ladies can start our organization.
Then of course, we have Natalie's swim schedule. Also, she has Awana 3 times this week, because the sparks olympics are saturday. She loves the games they do, and apparently she's really good at it. They recruited her again this year to do it, so lets hope she does well.
I also got a phone call tonight, from a lady from Natalie's school, they need some help with market day on tuesday. So I have a full week ahead of me.
I think I like my weeks busier, so that my weekend will come faster. But then it always seems like the weekend goes just as fast.
I need to start thinking about Easter. Easter has not crossed my mind at all, and its just a few weeks away. What are the plans going to be? Hmm, no clue. What's one more thing to think about.
Ok, Monday, here I come.....

Just some Random Thoughts

After putting the kid to bed, I'm sitting here thinking about my latest project (my website). I have American Idol on TV in the background, but I'm really not paying attention to it. I have my favorites, and they have already performed. Anthony is gone to a Fire Department meeting.
I had a call yesturday from another Fireman's wife, asking if I wanted to join a lady's auxilary. I'm thinking its a good idea to support our men, who have an incredible job to do. So the first meeting is tomorrow night, and I will see what its all about.
I think the goal for the ladies, is to raise enough money to pay for the firemans appreciation dinner that happens every year. Each year, we have a dinner party for the men, but the department usually pays the bill. Us ladies want to be able to plan the party for next year, and pay for it ourselves. I'm interested in finding out what kind of ideas we can come up with to accomplish this. Stay tuned.......

Grand Traverse

Well, the weekend is over, we're home from Traverse City. Natalie and I spent most of our time in the pool area. She is getting quite comfortable in the water.

There was soo much more snow in Traverse City than we have here. People were walking the golf course outside and it was knee deep! I love Traverse City, but glad we live a little further south! Here is a view from our room, overlooking the bay, it was really beautiful

Well, here's to another year of Conferences for Anthony and his "motley crew". As for Natalie, its back to school tomorrow!
